Message for Local Canwest retirees
Local 2000 retirees, or those from its predecessor locals, who worked for a Canwest-owned newspaper or printing plant, should sign a document indicating that they wish to be represented by CEP legal counsel during the current Companies’ Creditors Arrangement Act (CCAA) proceedings.
Click Canwest retirees form (189) to download the document. Please print it, fill it out and then fax it to the number on the document or scan it and email kuglerj@caleywray.com or mail it to the union office. Please use the following address: Canwest retiree representation CEP Local 2000 475 Howe St., Suite 400 Vancouver, BC, V6C 2B3While representation of union retirees by the CEP legal firm should occur regardless, Local 2000 and the National Union wish to demonstrate to the court that a bond still exists between the union and its retirees.
We want to make sure that the interests of our retired members will be heard during the CCAA proceedings. While the PNG and other pension plans of our Canwest retirees are healthy, some post-retirement benefits, such as company-paid MSP payments may be at risk.
Please circulate this letter to Local 2000 Canwest retirees.
